Federal Open Market Committee meet January 30 and 31

A quick look at the rotation taking place:

New voters for 2018:

  • Loretta Mester,
  • Tom Barkin,
  • Raphael Bostic,
  • John Williams

2017 voters not voting this year

  • Charles Evans
  •  Patrick Harker
  •  Rob Kaplan
  • Neel Kashkari

And, you might find this a handy cheat sheet. Via UBS, who preface:

The January meeting is Yellen’s last, so we have taken her name off.

We have reordered some participants because of their evolving communications.

  • Bullard’s “state dependent” framework for monetary policy means that he could easily shift away from his very dovish stance.
  • Barkin-the new President of the Richmond Fed-has no track record to judge, but we put him on the hawkish wing because of Richmond’s traditional views; that characterization could easily change.
